She saw me and froze.īehind her, another Sentinel rushed in, almost mowing her over. She bore a jagged scar under her right eye, the skin lighter in tone. The female Sentinel tipped her chin up, and the overhead light sliced across her broad cheekbones. She clenched titanium daggers in her hands like she expected something vicious to pop out from under the bloody mess. Her dark skin paled as she stopped just inside the entrance. It was pretty rare for a Sentinel to live that long. She was older, probably in her mid-thirties. Her black hair was pulled back in a neat little knot at the top of her head. The first to enter was a female half-blood dressed just as I was. I was a half-blood, but I was also the Apollyon, a child of a pure and a half, a union that had been forbidden for thousands of years because an Apollyon was more powerful than any pure or half could ever hope to be.Īnd I always got to the traitors’ hideouts before they did, so the Sentinels were usually left with the cleanup, which I was sure absolutely thrilled them. The Fates are cackling their bony asses off… Now let us tell you a little more about The Return…. Knowing JLA books, I am sure I am going to have quite a few new ones to fawn over. We here at Bookworm Coalition are so freaking excited about the release of The Return by JLA today! Jen and I have both read and LOVED the whole Covenant series by JLA, which if you weren’t aware was where we met the lead for this new series, Seth!! He was actually one of my favorites in the Covenant series, he had a killer sense of humor! I have been waiting on pins and needles for this book! I’m super pumped to see a few of my beloved characters from Covenant and a chance to get to meet some new, and potential favorite characters.
